Comfort Inn & Suites Dahlonega University Area

I was in room 314, right beside the elevator, and it was loud as hell. I heard it every time it ran, including the people inside. I was there for five nights and asked to switch rooms, but they couldn’t or wouldn’t accommodate me, which was really annoying. There was also loud laughing late at night, people talking, and others running up and down the halls. The hotel was extremely noisy, and it looked nothing like the pictures. It felt very outdated, dirty, and like it was falling apart. Whoever cleaned my room used so much cologne that the smell was still lingering, which was gross. The room didn’t have much lighting. The shower was bad and dripped, and so did the sink. The bathroom was extremely small. I’m a small person and still had a hard time getting ready in there. Parking wasn’t great either. Only one person at the front desk was nice and helpful; I wish I’d gotten her name. I know they aren’t travel guides, but it would’ve been nice to get local suggestions for places to eat that I don’t already have back home.

The bed was very comfortable, breakfast was full and complete, and the staff were excellent. The coffee, though, was very weak. The main drawback was the strong flowery odor everywhere, especially in the rooms. It came from what they sprayed on the carpets as disinfectant. Luckily my room hadn’t been treated, but my sisters’ adjoining room smelled pretty bad. I hope they switch disinfectants, or perhaps remove the carpets and replace them with vinyl flooring.

Colleen and Laurel were wonderful, really helpful, and worked hard to make my stay enjoyable. The hotel was very clean and the staff were great. I’d highly recommend staying here!

I needed a room in an emergency, and they were so wonderful. The place was clean, safe, and quiet, and the staff were friendly. I can’t praise them enough!
