Sarah's room is probably not the best fit if you're over 6ft or larger. The bedroom is average sized, and the bathroom steps up from it, leaving the tub open to the room and the shower partly open behind a glass door. The toilet is enclosed, but very small. There are only two rooms on the third floor, Sarah's and Captain's Quarters, with a shared kurig in the hall. This was our fourth stay at the Hall House after many trips to Dahlonega, and it's always been wonderful. We usually love the larger bedroom and spacious bathroom in the Monkey Trumpet room. The hotel sits right on the town square, close to places to eat and everything Dahlonega has to offer. There are two bourbon street locations on site, upstairs and downstairs, and free parking behind the building.

The Vineyard Room was lovely, with beautiful antiques, a warm feel, and music playing when we arrived and after housekeeping had been through. They even had a Christmas tree up during our Thanksgiving stay, and having wine available in the room was a great option. The location was amazing, and we loved the stay. We only wished the bathroom had hair conditioner and a bath mat outside the shower. We'd highly recommend Hall House Hotel for a fun visit to Dahlonega.

The owner's communication was good, and he planned to replace the shower head on our arrival day, checking that it wouldn't inconvenience us. That was about the only positive in our stay in Sara's Room for Thanksgiving 2025. The room was dusty, the bed uncomfortable, and the bedding didn't match: a black, white, and grey bedspread with old gold swirl sheets. The pillows weren't comfortable either. The bathroom and dressing area had other problems. The toilet closet was tiny, with no heat, and I wouldn't recommend it if you're over 5'8". The wall heater sits where the door opens, so in the cold weather we had, we couldn't leave it running with the door open. There was also an electric fireplace heater. The room got very cold when we were out, then took a while to warm up. I wish the listing had said there was no central heat and air. For summer, there's a window unit above the vanity. The third-floor back entrance and stairwells were very dark, which we hadn't been told about. Lights came through the two windows, so I clipped the bedroom curtains shut and put a bath towel over the dressing area window. At the vanity I had to bring in a chair and sit to use the mirror for hair and makeup. There's no proper place to hang clothes, though adding a bar or shelf seems like it could be inexpensive. The bathroom lights and art in the toilet closet were dusty. It was also awkward walking through the restaurant queue to get to the halls, and the balcony seemed to be for restaurant diners only, not hotel guests.

The location is wonderful, right on the square, with a fabulous restaurant and art gallery just down the steps. We loved everything about our stay in Sara's Room at the Hall House. The room itself is beautiful, and we'll certainly be back!

We parked once and didn't need the car again. Restaurants and shops are just steps away, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The Big Room was very clean, with a comfortable king bed, spacious bathroom, and a GIANT private screen porch. Check-in went perfectly, and Mike responded quickly whenever we had a request.
