The location was great for walking everywhere, and check-in went smoothly. They text when the room is ready, so you can arrive early if you're already in town. The room was perfectly clean, with lots of space, a roomy bathroom, and plenty of hooks and racks for hanging things. Best of all, this was the only hotel on our road trip where the air-conditioner worked properly. Thanks! We'll be back and would recommend it to friends and family.

The location is excellent, within walking distance of plenty of nice restaurants and shops, but at $200+ a night, it feels steep. Going a little farther down the street to Holiday Inn might give you a much better stay. We spent two nights at The Dahlonega Square Hotel. The bed felt like cheap material with almost no support, like sleeping on a newspaper. There aren't many amenities: no breakfast or snacks, and coffee means either a cheap pre-filtered bag to make in the room or lobby espresso with no flavor choices. The wine tasting area closes around 5-6pm. Thin walls let in noise from other guests and Shenanigans next door, and there's traffic from the street beside the hotel. Two of the three staff members we met were friendly.

We stayed in the McGuire Suite, a clean, comfortable second-floor suite with its own outside entrance. Getting there meant climbing two flights of stairs. I was glad to find plenty of towels in the bathroom. Keyless entry made contact with staff minimal, and they texted the code before we arrived. When I sent a couple of questions by text, they replied right away. The hotel is an easy, short walk from restaurants and shops, and the town is pleasant to explore on foot. We drove about four hours from home in TN to meet friends from SC the next morning. We also toured Consolidated Gold Mine, which was fun, and ate at Grape Vines for dinner and Bourbon Street Grille for lunch. Both meals were good.

We've visited the area many times, and we're glad we found this gem. The location works well for Dahlonega and the wineries, and we'll definitely return. The king bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was a good size for a hotel room. Our large guest room was extremely clean and nicely furnished, with an antique look that still felt fresh. We fell for the Dahlonega Square Hotel as soon as we entered the lobby. It brought back the feel of the original Bed & Breakfast places from before Airbnb's became popular. The gentleman who welcomed us told us a little about the building's history. The lobby and room were both spotless.

We came to the area to hike, and the hotel was conveniently placed for that. It was also easy to walk to a range of restaurants and shops. Our room was quiet, clean, and spacious. We loved the stay and would recommend the Dahlonega Square Hotel. We'll definitely be back.
