Holiday Inn Express & Suites Dalhart by IHG

Getting around was easy since it’s on a major highway at the edge of town, close to Dalhart’s central hub. Staff were friendly and helped us with a few things we’d forgotten. The continental breakfast was very nice, and there was Keurig coffee in the room. Everything looked clean and new, the bed was cozy, and I liked the wall thermostat and the wide windows at the ends of the hallways.

I’ve had some of my worst hotel experiences here. The room I booked through Expedia wasn’t available, so we were moved to another one, and it was gross. There was body hair and sticky spots across the bathroom floor and shower, the carpet felt disgusting underfoot, and there were white stains on it that made me wonder what they were. There was mud in the hallways too. On top of that, the town had such a strong manure and chemical smell I can’t even describe it. This was a huge letdown from what I expected of a Holiday Inn. I absolutely don’t recommend this Holiday Inn. Plan to stay in another town.

Nothing was awful, but the room didn’t feel up to the Holiday Inn I’m used to. It was clean, though the remote didn’t work and the toilet seat was cracked. When I asked for an extra pillow and blanket, they told me to come get them, then said they didn’t have any. Just felt a bit low rent for the usual standard.

The grab bar beside the toilet came off the wall when I tried using it to stand. That’s not safe. Before that, I’d found the room nice and clean, and it was handicap accessible once I reached it, though it was all the way at the end of the hall. No one offered help with my things. I couldn’t get an answer when I called about the window shade that wouldn’t close, and when my daughter called, they said someone would come look but nobody showed up. The young man at the check-in desk seemed very unprofessional to me.
