Anchor Motel

The staff were all so nice, and the employees live on site right next to our room. Before we left, we gave maintenance some of our road snacks and drinks, and we tipped housekeeping well. We’d stay again on our next trip. The room was clean except for a few roaches: three dead in the fridge, four stuck to the blanket, and I killed one live one in the bathroom. There was only a sheet and blanket on the bed, no comforter. My husband runs hot, so I put him in the bed by the AC. I’d brought my own blanket, which I needed to stay warm. It’s also within walking distance of the beach, and pets are allowed.

My son was robbed at this hotel on 09/21/25. The location is bad, and this place feels horrible and not safe at all. I reported it to the front desk, but they did nothing.

The location is great, but that doesn't make $95 a night reasonable. It's $30 more than other dives, and those places are cleaner. There wasn't a top sheet, just a scratchy bed covering. When I woke up, there was breading from fried food in my hair, and it wasn't mine. It really seemed like they hadn't changed the bedding between customers.

The front desk was very rude. While I was paying, I asked about the zero-tolerance guest rule posted on the wall. The man said he would refund me, and since it was already so late, I had to assure him I wouldn't break the rule. The next morning my car had been scratched and keyed. The only response from the front desk was that their cameras didn't point toward my car. Smh...
