Bishop Arts Suites

The couple running the place are kind, professional, and easy to talk to. These little suites are beautifully furnished and priced really well. They're handy to the highway, with rooms opening right onto your parking spot. You're also just a short distance from the city's center to the north and the Dallas zoo to the south. If all you need is somewhere to rest, this place is one of Big D's best kept secrets. The rooms are few, but thoughtfully equipped, and a great value.

It was a last-minute staycation, so we made it work. The low price and friendly staff were the good parts. Otherwise, the neighborhood felt sketchy, the pillows were flat, and the hot water was only lukewarm at best. We could hear everything through the thin walls. The microwave handle was broken, the TV remote didn't work, and the toilet was so cramped that you had to sit sideways.

The room was tiny, with bugs inside, and I didn't feel safe there. People were asking me for money before I even got to my room, and the key card failed twice. When I brought that up, the owner became aggressive and raised his voice. The rooms are poor quality, and I believe the owner is racist. I also don't trust the positive reviews, which seem fake to me. Spend a little extra on a La Quinta Inn or somewhere else. Do not book this place.

Locally owned, and I paid $85 after taxes. Not sure whether they have any deals. The room was adorable and cozy, though very small. Fresh new linens, a nice comforter, and a comfy bed. The bathroom's tiny too, but it has been renovated and updated.
