Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Dallas

I had two guests listed on my reservation, but the manager came out yelling at one of them. Then he yelled at me for bringing my guest in while I tried to explain that the guest was on the reservation. He kept shouting that he didn’t want to hear it. The manager was rude.

Tonight, 05/17, the front desk agent canceled my reservation and hung up on me very rudely. They didn’t call to verify my information or get authorization from my bank first. I’m a diamond rewards member, and this was absolutely disgusting. Don’t stay here!

After I called to say I’d arrive late, around 11 p.m., I got a voicemail an hour later saying my card wasn’t authorized and my room was being canceled. They emailed about the cancellation too, but said I could show up and get a room if one was available. I’d booked months ahead and never heard from my bank about a problem. I’ve used the card since, and it works fine. When I called back, I said they shouldn’t cancel without contacting me about the card and asking for another one. The employee just repeated that the card wasn’t authorized and my room was canceled. I offered a different card and asked them to rebook me, but then she said there were no rooms available. I’m pretty sure they gave my room to someone else after learning I’d be late. I hung up, called another hotel, drove the final two hours of my trip, and stayed there for a similar price. I spoke with Daisy both times, and the customer service and communication were terrible. Thankfully, there are plenty of other places nearby.

The heat made it nearly impossible to sleep. We were there during the week of the tornado, and the AC wasn’t working. With the windows unable to open, there was no breeze, just heat. It was miserable with kids and a tiny baby. Had I known about the AC and the refund policy, I wouldn’t have booked. There were flying cockroaches in the room, and by then we were stuck at the motel. The microwave was so tiny it seemed like it belonged in a dollhouse, and it wouldn’t heat anything I tried, so after buying microwave food we had to eat out. The motel feels run down. People I took for crackheads wandered in and out and used the pool, and cars stayed parked at the back all night. The corner store next door had what looked like drug dealers outside through the night. There were holes in the walls under the AC and mold in the bathroom. Service wasn’t bad, but it didn’t make up for any of that.
