Holiday Inn Express & Suites North Dallas at Preston by IHG

My husband and I found bed bugs and a piece of hair in our bed that wasn’t mine. The service was okay, though it could have been better at first. They were understanding in the end when we asked for a refund. The stay was horrible, and I don’t recommend this hotel.

I wouldn’t recommend the hotel because there was no way to reach anyone for help. I booked by mistake, then realized within a minute that it was too far from the airport. With a winter storm making the drive unsafe, I tried calling several times to cancel, but nobody answered. An Expedia agent also tried contacting the hotel directly and couldn’t get through. The lack of communication and support was extremely poor, especially in bad weather.

I got a call and a text with a photo of my glasses on Monday, January 19, but never received any reimbursement. So where had my glasses been all that time? I misplaced them after checking out on January 17th, and I know forgetting them was my responsibility. I returned to the hotel within an hour. I wear prescription glasses for reading and driving at night. Despite earlier stories, one of the housemaids said she’d found them and left them on the nightstand, but the housekeeper later said she hadn’t seen them. I went back to the hotel three times trying to get them.

Fruit flies covered the window and sill, which was unpleasant and unhygienic. The bathroom was dirty, the carpet and furniture had obvious stains, and the air conditioning wasn't working. The towels were so thin and worn they were barely usable. I also found out the website's claim that rooms have in-room safes was false. When I asked at the front desk, they said no rooms had one. Between that and the state of the room, this was a very negative stay. I wouldn't recommend this hotel.
