The halls had stained carpet and peeling walls, and the hotel feels run down and poorly maintained. The lobby also reeked of weed. We usually like Home2 Suites, but this location was a big disappointment. Our first room smelled of cigarette smoke. The worker was kind about letting us switch, but the new bathroom had no hand soap, and the tissue box only looked full because tissues had been stuffed at the top. It was empty underneath. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

Anthony made us feel welcome at check-in and was very pleasant and helpful. We’d spent the previous night at another hotel where we saw several cars broken into, so we decided to move. Hilton helped us switch to this Home2 Suites, and we felt safer as soon as we arrived. The extra security cameras, lighting, and nearby residential buildings helped put us at ease, and we felt our belongings were secure.

The hotel is run down, and the food was the worst I’ve had at any of the at least ten Home 2 Suites where I’ve stayed. The lobby has an overpowering Glade Plug In scent. It was so strong that I could taste it with every bite of breakfast. When we asked the front desk and housekeeping to unplug it, they said they could prop open the door and make everyone in the lobby freeze at 9 a.m. The high today is 47.

We came to town for medical appointments and booked this hotel because it was close to my girlfriend’s doctor. As veterans, we can’t always choose which doctors we’re sent to. We both have trained service dogs, not ESAs, but the front desk attendant was extremely rude and focused on collecting a deposit. From my experience staying at one of these hotels for almost two years with a service dog, that deposit legally can’t be used for a service animal. I was irritated by the demand, but might have paid if the staff had been professional and considerate. When I questioned it, we were told to leave. We’d booked well ahead, but thankfully found other accommodations nearby, got our money back, and managed to salvage the trip.
