The place smelled bad, the walls and floors were paper thin, and I could hear every move people made. The beds were hard as rocks, so don’t expect much sleep. Our room was gross: dirty floors and some unknown red substance smeared on the bathroom wall. The outlets didn’t work, and just one light worked. We had a single working outlet for four adult phones. When we pulled in, we saw a man taping up his truck window. We checked in, then learned car windows were being smashed, with no refunds. I haven’t checked my car yet and hope its window isn’t broken. For $115 a night, you’d expect better, especially with a $100 deposit. It’s refundable, sure, but there’s nothing in this room worth that. You get what you pay for, but good grief. Don’t stay here.

I’d been here three months without any real problems, but I spoke too soon. After a power outage in the morning, which I could tell from some of my devices, I came back that afternoon and found the microwave and air fryer had no power. The owner and his wife immediately suggested I’d tripped the breaker and started giving me advice about cooking in my room. That really insulted me. I’ve been here three months and never tripped the breaker, and I don’t like cooking with the bathroom door, which is in the kitchen, open. Well, “Ash” can’t fix everything. Time to go.

I booked 25 nights after starting a new job in Dallas, planning to find long-term housing. It cost less than other options, and since there was no pool or gym, I understood the lower price. But after the first night it was clear this place wasn’t set up for an extended stay. The nightstand and TV/desk outlets didn’t work, there was no dresser, and the four shelves that seemed meant to be drawers plus five hangers left nowhere to put my belongings. The building seems to regulate hot water, and it only gets to a lightly warm bath temperature. The bathroom motion light times out during a shower, so you have to open the door to trigger it again. The kitchen has an induction range but nothing stocked to use with it. The cost is appealing, but it’s not comfortable for a longer stay. Cleanliness and price are the only reasons I gave it two stars instead of one.

I stayed 14 days and paid $300 total, but there were problems with the charges and policies all along. The first night cost 245.00, with a 100.00 deposit. I booked an extension on priceline the next day at a cheaper rate, but was told to pay 140.00 and not to book through priceline or another third party. When I said I’d find a cheaper rate elsewhere, the lady brought it down to 110.00. She said prices would rise over the weekend. It went up by 10, which was no big deal, but apparently they have three-day weekends or longer because I paid 120.00 for the rest of the stay. I brought two dogs the first night and was charged 20 per pet, even though their website says 10 per pet and the policy should cap it at 100 per stay. You also have to pay for parking even if you don’t have a car. For an extended-stay hotel, they only let you stay 14 days. If you borrow the induction plates for the stove, which you don’t really need if you put weight on the burner before turning it on, make sure they take the charge off your account when you return them or you’ll lose the deposit. Check out late and you lose it too. It feels like they plan not to return deposits, especially when paid by card. If you question anything, you won’t get a straight answer.
