Wyndham Garden Dallas North

The property has its drawbacks, but the staff make up for them. The receptionists are always pleasant, and room service is great. Special thanks to Paul and Elizabeth for helping me with a private issue. I've stayed here more than once and plan to keep coming back. Awesome people work here, thank you!

We checked out a day early because the stay was so disappointing, and I wouldn't recommend it for the price. The breakfast isn't included. We tried it anyway, but at $12 per person and $8 for kids, it was nowhere near worth it. The bacon was burnt, the self-serve waffles were undercooked and unappetizing, and probably the only decent thing was the banana. The lobby gives a grand, luxurious first impression, but the outdated, uninviting halls quickly took that away. The elevator button got stuck when I pressed it. I was glad I hadn't stepped inside yet, because I would've panicked if it had malfunctioned with us in it. I was concerned that the elevators hadn't been reinspected or permitted since 2017. Our room had a terrible smell, likely coming from the air conditioning unit, which seemed neglected. I doubt its filters had been cleaned in years, maybe not since 2017 or longer.

We checked out because I lay down and couldn't breathe. I'm not sure if the smell was mold or something else, but the room was dated, and even at a cheap price it wasn't worth compromising my lungs. Stay away if you have sensitive lungs or allergies. The front desk staff were extremely nice, helpful, and accommodating. The lobby was bright and newly remodeled, but the rest of the building was terrible.

The staff were great and very friendly, which is why I'm giving two stars. The rooms were mid at best, and the beds weren't made once during our stay. Cups and other amenities were never restocked. The remodeling or contract work in our room wasn't worth a dime. There also isn't an all-you-can-eat buffet for breakfast or lunch. A huge roach ran across my path in the guest bathroom by the entry, the biggest I've ever seen. I wouldn't recommend the place for families, with adult extracurricular activities happening at all hours. The pictures make it look like a great hotel, but it seems most of the budget went to the entry and lighting. Disappointing stay.
