Mindy put together a lovely table and decor, and the lunch was delicious. We held my daughter’s bridal shower here today and loved every bit of it. I’d highly recommend the Inn for any kind of occasion.

We were pleasantly surprised by how relaxed the Inn felt for our first bed and breakfast stay. Our room, the Andrew Johnson, was beautifully appointed, and coffee on the second floor was an easy stop before breakfast. Mindy made us a generous meal with mini frittatas, sausage pinwheels, scrambled eggs, country ham, toast, orange juice, and coffee. We also got to talk with Jim, one of the owners, about our families, history, and our connections to VA Tech. We were only there for the evening of December 8th, but the visit really stuck with us. Mindy greeted us with a tour and shared some of the Inn’s history and details about the area. Dandridge is a quaint little town east of Knoxville and 39 miles north of Gatlinburg, and the Shepard Inn is just as much of a hidden gem. Even if it takes a detour to get there, I’d recommend staying.
We found this jewel and are already talking about bringing friends and family on a future visit. The historic inn is beautifully restored, and being right on main street made it easy to get to the shops and sights. The hostess made sure we were comfortable and well looked after throughout the weekend before Valentine's Day. We also had a lovely home cooked breakfast.
As Bed and Breakfast owners ourselves, we can honestly say this place is a 5 star production. The rooms are spotless, beautifully appointed, and comfortable, with great beds and pillows. The welcoming host and hostess made us feel at home right away. It’s been restored and decorated so nicely that it feels like stepping back in time. A great spot for parties and bridal or baby showers too. A must stay in Tennessee, and we can’t wait to come back.
Mindy knew so much about the house and Dandridge’s history, and the Shepard Inn’s own story is well worth hearing. We got to look around all the rooms, and they were all lovely. The Inn is clean and has a nice historic feel throughout. It’s in a great spot near the smokey Mountains, in Tn’s 2nd oldest town.
