I stayed at Comfort Suites Fort Lauderdale Airport over a month ago, and the standard security deposit was charged to my card. It was processed as a charge, not just a pending hold, and still hasn’t been refunded. Family members traveling with me on separate reservations also haven’t received their deposits back, so this seems to be more than an isolated issue. **Date of stay:** December 2025 The most frustrating part has been dealing with Manager Ubaldo Hernández. He keeps insisting my bank has to issue the refund, which I believe is impossible because the hotel processed the charge. I think only the hotel can reverse it or issue a credit. When I pressed for a solution, he gave me phone numbers for “accounting,” but they connected me to other hotels with nothing to do with my reservation or charge. He’s said the hotel doesn’t offer complimentary port shuttles, and it sounds like he has no intention of reviewing what happened. I feel he’s blaming the bank and sending me on useless calls instead of checking the hotel’s own records and processes. A month is a long time to wait for a deposit, and the contact information made things worse. In my view, the way this was handled shows disrespect and feels like a deliberate runaround. If you stay here, be prepared for your deposit to be charged and for difficulty getting help. Save yourself the time and frustration.

Even with a busy roadway and lots of people flying or cruising, our room was quiet. We didn’t hear any noise, and I slept so well on the incredibly comfortable bed and sheets. The room was spotless, had a nice bathroom, lots of space, and a pretty good view. We were more impressed with the room than anything else. We got there around noon, and the friendly front desk took our name and said they’d let us know when the room was ready. It took maybe half an hour. We were traveling with friends and hung out in the lobby, a good meeting spot off to the side with a TV. There were other places to relax too, including the breakfast room. Breakfast was crowded but had plenty of seating. I had a couple of little cheese omelets, better than I expected, along with coffee and juice. The hotel offers a free airport shuttle and asked if we needed one to the cruise terminal. I don’t know the cost since we didn’t need it, but I think I heard someone say $13 per person. We went to nearby Dania beach and also Lauderdale beach, a bit farther away, just to check them out. Lauderdale was much nicer and had plenty of places to eat and drink. Dania was nice but more subdued. There are also a few restaurants within walking distance if you don’t have a car. We walked about a mile to Dunkin and passed several restaurants. I’d definitely stay here again for a cruise. It’s a great spot, right beside the airport, and I don’t think the port was even 10 minutes away.

The convenient location has worked for us before, and we hadn’t had real issues. But the last two times, including this stay on December 3rd, 2025, the airport shuttle took almost an hour to pick us up. This time they put us in a first-floor room directly across from the breakfast area. The next morning, kids were yelling and having a blast just outside our door while we were tired from the previous day’s travel and trying to sleep in. I asked the desk clerk if anything could be done about the noise and chaos. She didn’t say a word, just shrugged. We paid for a room and expect it to be clean and quiet.
