Comfort Inn Darien - North Brunswick

We arrived late in the morning on January 3rd with two sick kids, and the front desk man helped get us into rooms quickly so they could rest. I can't remember his name, but he was kind and kept helping us through the day whenever we needed anything else. We were really grateful for how accommodating he was.

The staff were nice, but the place looked and smelled dirty. The bathroom sink had no stopper and was clogged with grime. There were black marks on the toilet seat, though they wiped off easily with wet toilet paper. The shower was dirty too, and its head sprayed water in all directions. When we arrived, the key for room 215 didn't work.

The staff were friendly, parking was okay, and breakfast included scrambled eggs, sausage, cereal, and juice. There’s also an outdoor pool and an indoor gym. The room was alright: the mirror looked unclean, though the beds and bathroom seemed fine. It’s easy to get on and off the highway, with gas and food nearby, about 2 minutes from the Bucs and 20 minutes from Brunswick. I’d stay again if I were in the area.

The room was decent for the price, and we slept well in the comfortable bed. The man at check-in was welcoming, and the hotel sits right by the highway, which made it very convenient. Breakfast had plenty to choose from: eggs, sausage links, cereal, muffins, bagels, waffles you make yourself, and coffee. My concern was the exterior doors. A notice said they should stay locked and require a room key, but they didn't lock. We choose hotels over motels partly for that added sense of safety, so it was disappointing to find this broken. I hope management fixes it.
