We slept really well in the peaceful, cozy Garden Room. The bed was very comfortable, and the hosts made us feel welcome. Breakfast was fresh and delicious, nicely presented, and we especially enjoyed the bacon and eggs. It’s a lovely, charming bed and breakfast, and we’d definitely come back.

The house is a charming historic property, and it’s in a great spot for enjoying Darien. Our host welcomed us so warmly and made us feel at home right away. Breakfast was thoughtfully prepared and delicious too. We had a wonderful stay, everything was beyond what we expected, and we’d happily return.

A real little gem, with a comfy bed, delicious breakfast, and the nicest hosts. The location is convenient right off I-95, in a charming historic town. This cozy bed and breakfast is lovely. Skip the hotel and book here!

The whole wedding evening was beautiful, with the setup and atmosphere feeling like a movie. Zach and Carrie arranged the tables, cake station, bar, music, dance floor, lights, place settings, and plenty more. They were also wonderful during the planning, recommending vendors, setup ideas, and things to do nearby, and always responding quickly. When the wedding week came, they let us drop items off early and change our reservation to arrive a day sooner than planned. Our family held a wedding at Open Gates Bed & Breakfast in early November, and we knew from the start we were in good hands. The house is walkable to downtown Darien, with a park across the way full of live oaks draped in Spanish moss and a fountain. There’s also a chocolatier across the street that shouldn’t be missed. The beds are heavenly, the shared spaces are beautiful, and Zach’s breakfast alone is worth the stay. We can’t recommend Open Gates Bed & Breakfast more highly for an event or a weekend away. Thank you, Zach and Carrie, for everything.

Zach and Carrie kept everything together for our wedding at Open Gates, and they’re some of the nicest people I’ve met. The house was clean and comfortable, and the whole stay felt magical. I’d recommend this place to absolutely anyone, a trillion percent.
