Seeing the eagle land on a pylon out back, along with the crane, was a nice surprise. And when rain and flooding left one car stuck in the sand as we were heading out, the rental company sent someone to free it at no charge. Still, the weather is something to watch: there wasn't a hurricane, but heavy rain, 20-25 mph winds, and two red flags meant we couldn't go in the water, and the road flooded. The Gulf was rough, so flooding is a concern in bad weather. The house had plenty of room for our family group of 14, with 4 main bedrooms and another room with several bunk beds. It's new, which is great, but the grounds need cleaning up. There were nails and screws underneath and around the edges, my sister in law picked up two bags of trash including water bottles and toys, and the old tire lying out back was a big eyesore from the deck. We were glad there were two nice refrigerators, but they should have been turned on cold before renters arrive. The wifi was so poor that the TVs lagged and the picture blurred. Someone had spilled something on the bedroom video game, leaving buttons stuck or unusable. I cleaned it so they would work. We had planned to grill on two nights, but the gas grill was nasty and couldn't be cleaned enough to use. Grime was caked on the burners, and we couldn't get it above 200 degrees. The pool is listed as heated saltwater, but it wasn't heated at all. In the first week of October it was cold, while the beach water was warmer.
