The location was a plus, right in the middle of a nice business district with plenty of options. But our stay at Candle Wood Suites in Davenport, Iowa was nothing like our earlier stays at other Candle Wood Suites, so I wanted to warn people. The room wasn't cleaned well, and the posted policy said rooms were only cleaned for stays of seven days or longer. That was what the bedroom notice said on August 10, 2025. There may also be extra charges if you use the dishes, so wash them yourself to avoid that. A full day of rain kept interrupting the Dish Network TV, which I hadn't realized could happen. Around 3 a.m., I found a spider in the shower and called the desk for spray. Shane said they only had ant spray, and that the day manager would be told so they could see what to do. Nobody came by once the day shift started. If you stay here, I'd bring cleaning supplies and bug spray to be safe.

The front desk staff were kind and moved me from Room 207 to a clean Room 208, but the general manager dismissed what happened and didn't return my voicemail for more than 24 hours. They also seemed to suggest my claim wasn't valid, even though I had photos and medical records. After just one night, I ended up at urgent care with what a doctor said was likely mold exposure. The mattress in Room 207 couldn't be used, and the comforter I slept under had visible mildew and a strong mold smell. I woke up wheezing and short of breath, missed work, had medical bills, and needed prescription treatment. Being exposed to mold and then treated as if I wasn't telling the truth was unacceptable. Guests should be able to count on safe rooms and managers who take health concerns seriously. I can't recommend this property unless the matter is properly resolved.

We were here for two months and a week after moving from overseas for PCS. If you're planning a long stay, keep a close eye on your valuables. I really wish each room had a safe for guests staying more than a month. Liam and Crystal deserve a special thank you, they were always so helpful and wonderful.

The place was nice and clean, and even smelled fresh. Check-in with the front desk was friendly, and our requested preferences were taken care of. We liked the location and would happily stay here again. Thanks!

I'm here for training until August, maybe longer, and being away from my big Catholic family has been hard. My husband, 8 children, and 20 grandkids are back home, but the staff have made this feel like home for me. The rooms are very clean, and everyone has been great. Thank you for helping me feel comfortable.
