Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Davenport by IHG

We came to Davenport for our daughter’s wedding, and this Holiday Inn & Suites did a great job hosting our big group of family and friends who flew in from California. The hotel team worked hard and showed us a lot of hospitality. A couple of things could be better for guests on vacation. Breakfast ending at 9 am felt early with the time change, so it would be nice if it ran until 10. The bathroom mirror was too far away for my wife, and a magnifying makeup mirror would help.

The location was really convenient, and the staff were friendly and accommodating when my sister had her wedding here a few weeks ago. They even put up with our loud silliness. Our hotel room wasn’t as clean as it should’ve been, but the staff made up for that.

The staff were incredibly courteous and helpful, and breakfast was pretty good. The waitress was especially sweet with the kids and gave them little treats. My son said her hot chocolate was almost great, and she got it to just the right temperature for him. The rooms were nice, but the heating and AC don’t reach the living area, which seems like a poor design. The pool was just okay, the hot tub was cold, and my son got a rash from the pool.

I recommended this hotel for my son’s baseball team during a tournament because I do a lot of business in the area and we’re Diamond members who usually stay with IHG. We’d been told breakfast would be available for the boys at 6:30. The food was out, but the attendant only let us have the cold items until 7. One of the moms gently asked if breakfast started at 6:30, and the attendant unloaded on her. The whole dining area went silent, with guests looking at each other. It was completely unhinged and unprofessional. The front desk staff were very nice and tried to make up for it, but that attendant needs a day off, or all of them do, before she starts swinging at guests.
