The room had plenty of space for a multi-night stay, and the kitchenette was a nice bonus. The view was worth the extra cost. The air conditioner was quiet and kept the room comfortable in the heat, though it couldn’t be set below 66 degrees. Parking was manageable while we were there, but I can see it being a problem when it’s busier. Breakfast was a letdown. Pancakes were the only hot option, and they were either very hard or too mushy. The apple and orange juice tasted heavily watered down, and bananas were the only fresh fruit. In the bathroom, the shower pressure was so low that rinsing shampoo was difficult. We almost used water bottles to finish rinsing. The door nearly hit the toilet and scraped the floor when opened.

After the long stretch of beautiful beach, we sometimes slept in, but the room attendant on the 3rd floor still fitted us into her schedule every time. She was so sweet, always letting us know when she’d come by, and made the room look new each morning. I wish we’d gotten her name so she could get credit. Also, after our 18-hour drive, we somehow arrived a day early. Sandy reassured us it happens all the time and went out of her way to arrange things so we could keep the same room for the whole stay instead of switching the next day. She clearly takes pride in her work and cares about guests having a good experience. We absolutely loved the Bahama House. My only suggestions are more hot choices at continental breakfast and better guest washers and dryers, since they didn’t work very well. The service, location, and rooms make it a place everyone should experience.

WOW, I can’t wait to come back. We stayed here on the first day of our Florida trip before heading to Orlando, and the service made me think about canceling the rest and staying put. Every employee smiled when passing, and many asked how things were going or if they could help. I’m extremely critical about cleanliness, but nothing grossed me out. Housekeeping did a 12/10 job. Parking is free, which is hard to find at Florida hotels. Breakfast has no hot foods, as advertised, but it was still amazing. The person working there offered every single guest warm cinnamon rolls, bagels, and other items that taste better heated. The pool was the perfect temperature, and beach access was easy. There’s a locked gate to keep strangers from coming up from the beach, so bring your room key. On the way to check out, a housekeeper stopped to ask if I needed anything. I said everything was perfect, and we had a friendly little chat that left a lasting impression. Please do whatever it takes to keep the same staff from May 19th and May 20th. They made the experience perfect. Changing how this hotel is run would be a step in the wrong direction.

The bed bugs were the deal breaker. I’d read rave reviews on expedia and a neighbor recommended the hotel, so we booked for a dance competition weekend. It was marketed as family oriented, but be aware it can be a party hotel during jeep beach, spring break, and other events. There was a strong Marijuana smell and a lot of balcony noise at night. That alone wouldn’t have made us leave. Near midnight, I asked to move rooms because I didn’t want to switch hotels alone with my two children that late. They were sold out and found me another "motel" for $300 a night. At least that one had no bed bugs. My girls had maybe 4 hours of sleep before they had to dance. The staff were very nice, but they know there’s a problem in some rooms. I heard it may be an issue at hotels across Daytona too. Such a shame when the beach is beautiful. Daytona beach definitely needs a glow up!

I was disappointed by how our attempted early check-in went, though I can’t say I’ll never stay again. My husband and I loved this place when we stayed for 8 days last August (2025), and since we’re from Jacksonville, we’d talked about coming back. We were coming from Orlando airport, called about a Thursday room, and were told our best bet was to walk in rather than reserve so they could check us in right away. We drove past hundreds of hotels to get here and arrived at 4:30 am after being awake almost 24 hours. The front desk lady said we’d have to pay for 2 nights to check in then, even though we’d leave early Friday morning. She said she didn’t want to do that to us and suggested we return at 7:30am to pay for one night. My husband asked if we could stay after that since we were both exhausted. She said yes, there were plenty of rooms available. We drove around and got coffee to stay awake, then came back to a new front desk person who turned us away and said check-in was at 4pm. When my husband explained what we’d been told, they said we’d been misinformed. I was upset and sad, since I’d planned to stay for a week again in May and August this year. I loved the free breakfast and happy hour, and the atmosphere used to be good. I know it’s a business, but a bit of humanity goes a long way. We went up the road to the Nautilus Inn, where they took us in right away with a welcoming attitude and no excuses. Their rooms were more updated than yours and had a beautiful view, so I’ll stay at the Nautilus Inn next time we’re in Daytona. Please get the front desk staff on the same page and improve communication. In response to the owner, the night front desk lady said they had plenty of rooms available right then, meaning they were already cleaned. We specifically asked if we could stay right away, and she said yes. If she’d told us rooms still needed cleaning and check-in was at 4pm, I’d have appreciated the honesty and found somewhere else. It’s water under the bridge now. Thank you for responding.
