Castaways Resort Studios

Our first Florida trip ended with an engagement, and Castaways helped make it unforgettable. The front desk staff were so happy for us when we told them. They even put a message on the roadside board and took our picture beside it. The room was lovely, the beach was beautiful, and getting to the beach and parking were both easy. Everyone was warm and kind. An 11/10 stay, and we'd absolutely come back!

The place is a little dated, but it's held up well through Florida hurricanes. The pool is usually empty, and there's lots of space on the beach. Downstairs, the diner is a classic and the prices are reasonable.

The two women who welcomed my wife and me were wonderful. They went beyond being polite, pointing us toward places where locals eat and sharing ideas for enjoying the sights and sounds. They even put our names on the sign out front. We had a great spot for our 14th anniversary, from the first day through the last. Thank you! We'll be back, and bringing more people.

We won't stay here again. The little fridge, TV, and cooking supplies, including plates and a burner, were nice, and part of the room was cute, but there were stains on the undersheets and what looked like black mold along the walls by the window. We were told there'd be a bathtub, which I'd been looking forward to, but there wasn't one. The water pressure and shower curtain were problems too. We booked four to eight weeks ahead through Hotels.com for Valentine's weekend and the Daytona 500, then found out the property apparently wasn't connected with them and didn't know how we'd booked. We were double booked, so another woman didn't get the room. I hope she got her money back and found somewhere else. When we arrived, the cleaner was still there, and we waited 20 minutes after checking in before we could look around. We weren't given a key by whoever handled the booking, so we had to get one at the front desk. We stayed because we'd already paid, there was nowhere else available, and we had nowhere else to go. Don't book here.
