Daytona Beachfront Condo w/ Ocean View

Water dripped from the ceiling above the tub whenever the unit upstairs showered. The room and 12th floor had a strange smell, and two elevators were out of order. In the lobby, all the ceiling tiles were stained, while the parking deck was closed and the rear outdoor pool had been condemned. We had to park next door or across the street. The coffee cups in the room were dirty, so I'm glad I brought my own pillow too, since the one on the bed was flat.

I was ignored by the owner when I raised issues, then pressured to leave a five-star review. The sliding door was loud and wouldn't lock, the cable TV wire had come out of the wall, and the patio chair was broken. The curtain was torn and couldn't be closed, and the broken AC cover was just lying on the patio. The dresser drawers fell onto the floor when used. I also never got a parking pass because the link in the email was broken. There were other problems too.

The shower barely had a trickle of water pressure. The hurricanes from fall 2024 are still affecting the place, so the pools and hot tubs weren't available, and both the on-site restaurant and bar were closed.

We left after the first night because there was nowhere else to move to that night, and the stay was miserable. The pools have apparently been closed for years, the bar is gone, and getting to the beach means going out the front and walking around the unusable parking garage. In room 313 the AC didn't work, there was a strong moldy smell, the air filter was filthy, and we saw bugs on the wall and counter. The bathroom light flickered like something out of a horror movie, and the room hadn't been updated. Balconies aren't private, and from our row you can see into all the others. If you're alone, I'd bring a hotel lock for extra protection. There's just a small deadbolt between you and someone getting in, and a low railing that someone could jump across between balconies. We complained to Salty Dog vacations, but they said the AC couldn't be fixed until after our stay, even though we checked in on a Thursday. The guy at the “front desk” was rude too. A Publix shopping center and a couple of bars are across the street; there are some beach shops within a 30-minute walk, but not much else.
