The ocean view was beautiful, and Hyde Park Restaurant was easily the best part of the stay, with great food and service. Don Rico’s drinks were decent, too. But the room was outdated, the furniture and decor looked old, and there wasn’t a proper seating area. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, both bathroom sinks drained slowly, and so did the bathtub. The closet was broken, the refrigerator didn’t cool properly, and the AC worked inconsistently. We came to Hilton Daytona for my graduation celebration, and I expected more based on stays at other Hilton properties. In the South Tower, only 2 of 4 elevators were working, which caused delays and inconvenience. For such a special occasion, I expected better comfort, upkeep, and quality. There are better, more affordable places nearby. I’d recommend visiting Daytona Beach, but staying somewhere else.

The biggest frustration was how the extra costs and parking arrangements were handled. We weren’t clearly told while booking about the nightly parking fee or the limitations. Valet costs $50 per night and only takes cars and small trucks. With a larger vehicle, you have to park across the road and down the block, leave your luggage with the bellhop, and walk back. When you return, the hotel says it’s “full service,” so you can’t take your own luggage. The bellhop takes over, creating an expectation to tip whether you wanted help or not. It all felt misleading. The Hilton name led me to expect more transparency and better upkeep, but the rooms and decor felt worn and overdue for renovation. The refrigerator looked old and partly broken, as if it were there just so the room could be advertised as having one. Instead, it felt like an unupdated property that adds surprise fees on arrival. If you’re considering a stay, expect dated rooms and costs that weren’t clearly disclosed when booking.

The view was amazing, and the only women who helped me were the best part of the stay. But I spent more of the weekend frustrated than enjoying it with my kids. We came for a cheer competition, and chose this hotel to be close to the convention center. With 5 kids, including 2 toddlers and a newborn, I wanted things to be easy. After this experience, I’d never spend another dime here. At check-in I had credit card problems. The woman at the desk wouldn’t help, and neither would the supervisor, while we were all stuck in the lobby. Eventually another woman went out of her way to help, spoke to the manager, and got things sorted. I never got her name, but she was honestly the best part of my stay. It took almost 2 hours to get to our room. Maybe I expected too much, but there was no microwave and the TV had barely any channels. I suppose it was my fault for not checking the amenities. Two elevators were broken, and I had to pry open one of the two that were supposedly working to get someone out. We waited ages for the elevators. On the second day, DoorDash drivers suddenly weren’t allowed upstairs. I called the front desk to say it was ridiculous, and the young woman just said, “ya well...” That’s all. The employees were rude from the moment I arrived, and for this price, it wasn’t worth it. I’m sad and disappointed.

The staff were friendly and helpful, which we appreciated, but the room wasn’t very clean even after it had been cleaned. There was hair on the bathroom floor and trash left behind. The tub had dirt rings, stains, and scuff marks, and on the first night water pooled around my feet in the shower because it drained slowly. Parking was inconvenient, too. We had to pay, and the lot was quite a distance from the hotel. My husband and I stayed for the weekend, and the price left me disappointed because I expected more. The rooms need major upgrades across the board, not just in a few of them. Ours had a mini micro fridge that felt out of place and a TV so small that, despite having two beds, we had to gather on one to watch. The room across from us looked much nicer, which made me assume guests who pay more get a better room. I don’t mind paying more, but this didn’t feel worth it, and I wouldn’t choose this location again. I hope the feedback helps improve things for future guests.

The restaurant staff were absolutely amazing, and the hotel itself is beautiful, though the rooms could be better. The elevators were an embarrassment. After months of bad reviews, they still couldn’t keep them working. Of the 4 elevators in the main tower, 2 were out of service the whole trip, and one of the 2 that did work was down for about half the stay. Paying $812 for an extra night during Daytona 500 weekend and still having these elevator problems is embarrassing.
