Western Plaza Inn

Room 104 was a nightmare, with bed bugs everywhere. We checked the room lightly when we first arrived and didn't see any; it seemed okay for a cheap room. As we were heading out to dinner, someone from a unit over stopped us to say they were leaving because their room had bugs. Thank goodness they warned us. We went back, pulled the mattress right off, and found lots of bed bugs of different sizes under the metal bed frame, including dead ones. It was disgusting. We grabbed our things and left immediately, and the front desk didn't seem to care. Don't assume your room will be different. If you do stay, you'd better turn everything over and check it carefully. Nasty!

The bed was comfortable and the TV had good options, but the cigarette smell hit me as soon as I opened the door. The WiFi wasn't secure, and every time I got off the bed it sounded like it was about to fall apart. If you smoke, they allow it here. If you don't, be sure to ask for a nonsmoking room.

The staff were rude. I admitted I'd misunderstood the reservation and that it wasn't prepaid, and after a moment of confusion I agreed to pay. They kept repeating that the booking wasn't prepaid instead of accepting my answer. I finally had to tell them to stop talking and just take my money. The room was in fair condition and clean-ish, the bathroom had plenty of supplies, and the bed was comfortable. There were also dead beetles behind the doors, clearly dead and apparently missed during cleaning. I'd rate it higher if not for the rudeness.

The rooms were dated, but clean, and the beds were soft and comfortable. We drove in from Memphis, found it easily, and I'd recommend taking the scenic route. It's a nice, very quiet area. The room had a desk, dresser, TV, microwave, fridge, and bathtub/shower. There's also an ice and soda machine, and the motel has two floors. I'd recommend booking online.
