Courtyard Atlanta Decatur Downtown/Emory

I probably couldn't stay here again after losing so much sleep because the sound carries everywhere. We could hear the people next door coughing and snoring, and doors closing in the hallway made a loud thump. The hotel was clean, well located, and the staff were friendly, but the lack of soundproofing made the stay painful.

Ashley and Angel made the visit feel welcoming and seemed genuinely focused on good service. The place was clean, the rooms were spacious, and there was a fitness center and pool. I'd pick this hotel again.

I'm traveling for work, and this hotel is close to one of our new stores, but I'm going to tell the office we shouldn't book here. The AC didn't work in either of the two rooms we were given, and both climbed to 76 degrees. I sleep hot, so I was waking up sweaty and very uncomfortable. We reported the first room at noon Sunday, but nobody came. We asked again by 5pm, then someone finally showed up and set it to 50 degrees. It still warmed up. At 10pm I asked the night guy for another room. He said they were fully booked, would find a fan, and call me, but never did. I went downstairs at 11 and spoke to a different woman, who said she didn't have a fan. She was then able to move us to a handicap room, which was fine, but I don't understand why that couldn't have happened when I first asked. It read 73 degrees, so I hoped it would be cooler, but its AC was broken too. I felt like I was being given the runaround. We thought we'd found a solution, but ended up in the same situation. Having two rooms in a row with broken AC is unacceptable.

That five-floor open lobby and restaurant area carries an incredible amount of noise into the rooms. Guests and staff can be heard all the way from the lobby, and the windows do nothing to block sound. Even little noises become loud, with unbearable racket early in the morning, well before 7:00 a.m., and late at night, sometimes past 11:00 p.m. When I asked the front desk to address it, they ignored me or said, "What am I supposed to do?" Ask for a room with an outside-facing window if you end up staying. Inward-facing rooms get no natural light unless you open the curtains, which means other guests can look into your private space. Maybe someone exhibitionist would enjoy that. The reception staff were rude, loud, and more focused on themselves. My one-star service rating applies only to the reception staff. I strongly recommend staying somewhere else. This hotel was a complete nightmare.
