The most uncomfortable part of my May 31st stay was breakfast around 8:30 a.m. I greeted the attendant twice and was ignored both times. At first I brushed it off, but then noticed she interacted differently with other guests and seemed less welcoming and attentive toward Black guests in particular. I sincerely hope I'm mistaken, but it left me disappointed and uneasy, and I'll most likely choose another location next time. The stay itself was decent: check-in was smooth, and the two young women at the desk were friendly, professional, and helpful. The room was fine, though the bed wasn't as comfortable as I'd expected. I couldn't find the iron and ironing board because the closet they were in was locked, but the night front desk associate quickly sorted that out.

They made us feel right at home at this Marriott. We got a warm welcome, and the smiles and offers to help carried right through breakfast the next morning, which was free. The staff seem to truly enjoy making guests happy and were so attentive. The location near the Legacy Place is great, and we'd definitely stay again.

The plumbing had a few small quirks, but none affected our comfort: the sink drained slowly, the water wouldn't stop running for my son's bath, and I had to hold down the toilet flusher. Otherwise, the Residence Inn Marriott Boston Dedham was very clean, with a clean room, good breakfast, and incredibly friendly, welcoming staff. We had a great stay and would definitely come back.

Shawn was an absolute gem. The evening shift front desk employees didn't address our issue the first night, but Shawn took care of it promptly and professionally when he arrived in the morning. That made a real difference to how I felt about the hotel, and I hope they appreciate him. It's well located for Rt. 1 and Legacy Place, where there's good shopping and restaurants. You can walk there, or drive and use the free parking garage to save yourself a headache. Public transit is nearby too, and you can take the T into Boston. Breakfast wasn't quite what we hoped for, though DoorDash can bring you whatever you want, and the Whole Foods at Legacy Place has a breakfast bar with fruit, eggs, breakfast meats, and sandwiches. The beds were comfortable, and our room had a dining area, desk, and kitchenette with a fridge/freezer, microwave, two burners, sink, dishwasher, utensils, and dishes. We had a great lunch at the Yard House and a fun shopping day. Overall, I'd recommend the hotel.

The whole complex could use a face lift, and the units are pretty run down. I had a king bed suite, but one TV stopped working, the microwave buzzed loudly when used, and half the outlets were loose or dead. There's a hole in the ceiling with a double gang cover over it, but you can still see the problem. On arrival, nobody was at the front desk, and I waited what seemed like five minutes before anyone greeted me.
