Oceans 735

We liked the personal, mom-and-pop small business feel here, and the whole staff, from the front office to maintenance, were friendly and flexible. We're locals, and this was our first stay at Oceans 735. We picked it for a winter-break staycation with the kids before they went back to school, and the easy beach access and nice pool were just what we wanted. Our small family room had a mini fridge and microwave, which worked well for a short visit. Next time we'll pick one of the larger rooms with a kitchen. The property is being renovated now, and we're looking forward to seeing the changes. We enjoyed the stay and would happily return.

Lisa at the front desk was accommodating, and the warm pool was nice. The room was fine, though the AC felt a little weak. The Fabuloso smell was strong at first but faded. We had to wait a couple of hours past the 3 p.m. check-in time, until 5 p.m., for the room to be ready. The location makes it easy to walk everywhere: three minutes to the beach, ten into town, and twelve to the pier. They also had no problem storing luggage before or after check-in and checkout, or giving us a late checkout.

We arrived at 2:45 p.m. for the stated 3 p.m. check-in, but were told the room needed another 45 minutes. At 4:20 it still wasn't ready. By 5:30, the woman said it would be ready shortly because they were dealing with a small puddle under the fridge and still had to clean the floor. I offered to take the room with a towel and clean it myself. When we went in, the puddle was so tiny I couldn't understand why they hadn't handled it. That was $200 wasted on Valentine's Day with my girlfriend. Probably the worst hotel experience I've had. Absolutely awful, don't stay here.

The management is horrible, and I felt unsafe. They don't stand behind reservations, but they don't make reservations themselves either. They won't answer the phone, only take third-party bookings, then say there's nothing they can do. It felt like they stole my money. I couldn't manage the stairs, and the elevator was broken and still is. This is against the ADA. The ADA is coming for them!
