Embassy Suites by Hilton Chicago North Shore Deerfield

There was plenty of room to wander, and my seven-year-old had fun walking around the lobby with an older boy he’d made friends with. We had great food at the Grille last night during a very busy drinks reception. The rooms were what I expect from an Embassy Suites, and breakfast had everything you’d want and more. A great place to lay your head.

It’s a bit dated, so keep that in mind, but I had no issues during my stay. I look at cleanliness, service, and other factors too, and those were fine. The location is excellent for Deerfield area businesses, and my room was very large with a true suite layout. Nighttime noise wasn’t a problem. The bathroom could use a refresh, but everything worked and the water pressure was really strong. Breakfast was standard continental, though the omelet bar was the better choice, with better ingredients. Coffee was classic Hilton. I didn’t try the restaurant, but it had people in it each time I passed.

We had such a good time from the moment we walked in until we left, and it was our first stay at Embassy suites. The courtyard was a unique feature, with a fireplace and sofas that made it cosy while snow fell outside. We stayed in because of the snow and cold, but the courtyard and evening service kept us entertained. Snacks and drinks were served there from 5.30-7pm, and adults could have one free white wine at the bar. The Grille and bar stayed open until 10pm. Rooms were clean and spacious. The fitness room was clean but small, and the pool was warm, though packed late in the evening, so we skipped it. We had a toilet problem late at night, which seems to happen to us regularly. Within 10 minutes of telling the front desk, maintenance arrived and fixed it quickly. I’ve never had such a speedy resolution. When Uber Eats forgot utensils with our food, I went down for plastic ones, but staff gladly lent me silver utensils and asked me to leave them in the room afterward. Breakfast was the usual American fare, with extra juice and cereal choices and a live counter for custom eggs. Staff cleared tables so quickly that there were always places for families to sit. The small touches and the professionalism really lifted the experience. We’ll be back.

Heather at the bar made this an outstanding experience. She was professional, upbeat, and genuinely caring, attentive without hovering, knowledgeable about the menu, and great at recommendations. Every drink was made with precision and consistency, and you could tell she takes pride in her work. Even with a busy bar, she kept things moving and made each guest feel valued. The service was top-tier from the moment I arrived, the atmosphere welcoming, and the drinks perfectly crafted. Five stars all the way. If you stop in, grab a seat at the bar and see Heather, you won’t be disappointed!
