I came to town to pick up a dog from Tails Humane Society and needed somewhere dog-friendly. The desk clerk was helpful and friendly, and the room was immaculately clean. The price was right, and the hotel suited what I needed for the night. I wasn’t looking for luxury. I didn’t feel entirely safe, though some of that may have been because I was a woman alone, apart from the dog, in an unfamiliar town after driving about 9 hours. I was leaving early the next morning. Walking the dog after dark felt a little uneasy, and someone slapped down the do not disturb sign I’d hung outside my door. I found it when I looked out to see what the noise was. I even pushed the armchair against the door before sleeping. It’s been a couple of years since I stayed, but I came across reviews while looking up past places I’d visited.
