Holiday Inn Express Delano by IHG

We slept really well in the comfortable bed, and the room had everything we needed. It was spacious and super clean, though one chair had huge stains. The AC and heat both worked. Front desk staff could have been friendlier and more attentive. Breakfast was the standard sort you'd expect at a US hotel, nothing especially good.

The front desk staff were professional and answered my questions. My room was clean, the breakfast was delicious, and I was very satisfied with the customer service. Highly recommend for travelers.

I was in Delano to make arrangements for my mother's funeral and needed somewhere comfortable to rest. Instead, the problems with the room and the way staff handled them made an already difficult time worse. I wouldn't recommend this hotel, and I hope Holiday Inn and IHG take the feedback seriously and improve maintenance and service. It was over 100 degrees outside, but the air conditioning in my room didn't work. The TV was stuck on one channel my family and I didn't like, and we couldn't change it. When I reported both problems that evening, the front desk said nothing could be done because the hotel was fully booked. The elevator was also out of order. I was on the second floor and managed, but this would be a major problem for families, older guests, or people with heavy luggage. At checkout the next morning, I raised the issues again with another attendant, possibly a manager. He didn't show concern or offer to check the room with me, and said he could only give me 1,000 IHG points. That felt inadequate and dismissive. After some back and forth, he said he might offer 3,000 points if I wrote a review. It left me feeling the hotel cared more about how it looked than about helping guests.

A nice stay in a calm, quiet area. Dora at the front desk was extremely polite and friendly.
