Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Delray Beach I-95

The front desk staff were pleasant and helpful, and if you’re just stopping during a road trip, this place is fine. The lobby is nice, and breakfast is what you’d expect from a typical Marriott. The rooms, though, are outdated and average at best. It’s in an interesting part of Delray, around half a mile to a mile from the nicer areas. The hotel is just off I-95, surrounded by lower-income housing, a police station, and a gas station, so it sticks out. Walking toward the nicer part of town at night didn’t feel safe to me. As early as 7 p.m. last night, several incapacitated people were walking between the hotel and the library area. I wouldn’t recommend it if you want a beach getaway or somewhere walkable. Look in town or closer to the beach.

We stayed one night. The staff were welcoming and great, and the room was comfortable and well appointed. The bathroom was spacious and worked well for accessibility. Breakfast was plentiful and good, though I wasn’t keen on the paper goods used for serving the food. The location depends on what brings you here. It’s not within walking distance of Atlantic Avenue’s main area or the water, but highway access is easy. There’s a free shuttle to town and the beach, which I didn’t use. We’ll certainly return.

The desk staff are the reason I’m writing this, they’re friendly both during the day and at night. Flow is especially sweet in the morning, always in a great mood and greeting everyone who passes by. I’m on the road nearly 200 nights a year, and this Fairfield is clean with a comfortable bed. It’s close to I-95, Atlantic Avenue, and the beach. One thought about the gated parking: it seems pointless if the entrance gate doesn’t lock. Either keep it locked and use the key entry that’s already set up, or remove it so entering and leaving are easy.

I was here for business, so I can’t speak to the nearby activities. The room itself was very comfortable and a nice place to relax. It was clean and felt newer, with a spacious, spotless bathroom and a very large shower. The AC worked really well. Breakfast came with the stay. It was fine and did the job for a business trip, though it wasn’t the best.
