Comfort Suites Near Denver Downtown

The hotel looked nice at first and was mostly clean, though a little worn. Our room was about the same. The front desk woman at check-in was pleasant, and the one at checkout was pleasant but passive. I fell asleep on the couch and woke up to what I assumed were three bed bugs. I told the desk when I checked out and was told management would call, but nobody did. I also left my bracelet in the room while rushing to catch an early flight. I realized at the airport and called right away at 6am. The desk said they’d check and call me back, and that I could send a packing label if they found it so they could mail it. No call. After I landed, a different person said she’d check with the cleaning manager and get back to me. Again, no call. I called the next day. They initially said they hadn’t found it, but when I insisted I knew it was in the room, the desk said the room hadn’t been rented out and she’d check herself. After about 10 minutes on hold, she said it wasn’t there. At this point, I just assume the cleaning crew stole it. I know it’s on me, but damn, can’t people do the right thing? I don’t recommend this hotel.

For a quick one-night stay, the parking was free, check-in was easy, and the room was manageable. The nearby highways are convenient, though the surrounding area might not feel great. You can smell chlorine from the pool in the elevators, and you’ll hear neighbors shutting doors.

We flew in for a hockey game and were told one rate by an employee, then had management confirm it. Later they just called it a mistake and refused to honor the price. The rooms are noisy, and the smell of Mary Jane drifts through the hallways. I’d never recommend this place. They may be friendly, but what thief isn’t? I’d rather stay somewhere I know I’m safe with both eyes closed.

It’s not really near downtown, though it was cheap, and I needed to be in this area. I could have spent the money on Lyft rides to somewhere nicer downtown. Check-in was easy, the woman was very nice and upfront about the deposit, and my room was spacious and pretty clean. There are always little details that get missed, even in the nicest rooms. A 7 11 and a weed store are close by, but things are pretty spread out on this side.
