Ramada by Wyndham Denver Downtown

Downtown is a good location, and I felt safe there. The room was roomy and comfortable, but the lobby and hallways seemed dated and worn, and the place could have been cleaner. It also had a spooky feel. Staff were polite enough, but despite asking several times, we didn’t get shampoo, enough towels, coffee creamer, or a working TV. We stayed three days and got service only once, after asking. There was no vacuuming or anything like that. No one told us breakfast was included or where to find it, and none of the amenities were explained. I saw there was an outdoor pool, but I never found out where it was.

I appreciate having a safe place to stay where I can relax and sleep, and the hotel has security and keypads at the entrances. The cleaning staff are exceptionally efficient and friendly. The building is old and dated, though it’s clean and comfortable, and repairs don’t get handled. My phone, air conditioning, and bathroom sink weren’t fixed during the three months I was here, though at least we have hot water now. Staff hardly ever answer the phone. I’m grateful I’ve been allowed to stay, but the hotel is closing on June 30, 2021, which means everyone housed here will be back on the streets. Most are struggling to find housing. The Salvation Army only started helping a month ago, and people have little choice about where to go. Many are on housing lists with a two-year wait. Thank you for your hospitality.

The restaurant staff were very nice, and the food tasted good, though the tiny portions were laughable. Our TV had no service. We were told to press the channel-up button seven times to get the channels, all four of them. The lobby looks nice at first, but the hallways were filthy once we got our room key. Running a vacuum would make a big difference, and the hotel badly needs renovations.

The rate was cheap and the staff were nice. The lobby looked cool, and several good places are within walking distance. But the room smelled and felt dirty, and the cleaning equipment looked really old. They should give the cleaning staff better tools. Outside the lobby, the hotel was pretty bad and needs a major renovation.
