Our room was clearly not ready when we arrived around 10 pm. The door was ajar, the sheets looked dirty and slept in, dishes were scattered around, and towels were on the floor. For the 24 hours before arrival, we’d received emails saying the building’s water was out, but they assured us it would be back by the time we got there. We checked for any update and found none. Nobody answered the app chat, and we’d been told no one would respond on Airbnb, where we booked, so we called the number in the app and waited about 25 minutes. They said housekeeping couldn’t come because the water was still off, which we understood. But at first, their solution was to cancel our reservation and leave us without a place for the night. Only after we asked whether they could put us in one of their other two Denver locations did they look. They couldn’t find anything, then offered a ready room in the same building for the night and a move back to our assigned room the next day. There was no guarantee the water would return, and no discount for being without it. It took about 45 minutes to get that offer, so it was 11 pm. Our choices were to cancel, stay somewhere with no water, or look for a last-minute hotel at last-minute prices. I’m very unhappy with how Sonder handled this, and wouldn’t recommend any of their properties after seeing how management responds when there’s a problem.

The studio was laid out really well, and the bed was comfortable. Everything was very, very clean, and the location made it easy to walk to public transportation and good restaurants.

This was our third time at Sonder University Park Denver, and we chose it again because we can walk to family. The apartments are always clean, well equipped, and thoughtfully streamlined. This time we rented a two-bedroom to fit more of the family, and it worked out great. We asked for extra towels and other supplies, and they came quickly. The Chromecast TV can be tricky for older guests who aren’t tech savvy. A regular TV would be nice, though who has much time for TV in Denver?

There were a couple of things that could’ve been better. The bedroom felt warm, and we couldn’t set the thermostat below 70F, though the apartment stayed at 72F. We stayed in 250. Parking is behind the building. Bahn Mi station across the street is really yummy, and you need to connect to WiFi before using Chromecast. I’d read another review saying it was hard to figure out, but we had no trouble. The rest of the stay was great for the price, with everything needed for a comfortable visit. It was really clean, cleaner than some hotels. Having laundry and a kitchen was a nice bonus. The gym was well equipped, and we only realized too late that the rooftop jacuzzi and pool would’ve been a treat. The other negative reviews seem tied to their specific circumstances. I’d absolutely stay again.

The room was perfectly adequate, aside from a small area that looked like it had been missed during cleaning. I liked the view at University Drive and the lobby coffee machine. I’d recommend it if you want somewhere that feels more like an apartment. I’m not sure why the other ratings are so low.
