The breakfast host's joyful personality made the morning feel especially welcoming. There was a varied, delicious selection, and housekeeping checked whether we needed any personal hygiene items. Reception staff were welcoming too. While we waited for the 3 p.m. check-in, they kindly offered refreshments and let us use the guest waiting room. Our furnished room made for a restful night. Another extremely pleasant and comfortable stay. Thank you for a great travel experience. CMSgt Dan Garza, USAF. (Retired)
I'm very disappointed and won't return. After driving three hours from Nacogdoches late at night to visit my girlfriend in Dallas, I arrived to find the check-in employee, Belle, eating at the desk and chewing while she spoke to me. She asked where I'd come from after seeing my ID, then said Nacogdoches wasn't that far. That felt dismissive after my drive. Belle told me I couldn't stay because I'm under 21. I understand and respect the policy, but I had already booked and paid through Expedia, and the service had already been poor. She offered no useful alternatives and said she didn't know which hotels checked in guests under 21. I had to find another place at the last minute that allows check-in at 18+, costing me extra money and stress. As a college student, the delay in getting my Expedia refund is significant and frustrating. Good hospitality means trying to help when there's a problem, even if the rules can't be changed. Instead, I felt like my situation didn't matter and I was just another number. I tried calling to report it, but the same employee answered and it was hard to reach a manager. I'll contact corporate too, and I'd caution travelers, especially those under 21, to check the policy before booking.
The hotel smells fresh and clean as soon as you walk in, and customer service is top notch. On my first visit, Ms. Belle won me over for future stays. During my recent visit, I was impressed by how well Ms Justine handled a busy lobby.
The hotel was clean, and my explore-rate stay went smoothly. I've had times when the treatment and room cleanliness weren't good, but everything went well this time. The staff were great and accommodated my unusual work situation. Definitely recommend.
I stay at Fairfield Inn several times a month, and breakfast is usually the main thing that bothers me. There's variety, but nothing is really great, and lately I've thought about switching brands. Today, February 7, 2026, the breakfast at the DeSoto TX location blew me away. The young woman running the kitchen was a ROCKSTAR. Everything was fresh, clean, and hot, with four kinds of fresh melon laid out like a cruise ship buffet and hot tortillas alongside eggs, potatoes, and pork sausage. She kept moving through the dining room, smiling, checking on guests, and cleaning while she talked. Everyone was talking about her. It's amazing how a little thing like this can change the whole guest experience. Congratulations to management for hiring, training, and keeping her. With that energy and work ethic, her future is bright. Well done!
