Grand Caribbean West 215 1 Bedroom Condo by Redawning

We've already stayed here twice because we love it so much. It's very close to the beach, just one crosswalk and less than 20 yards away. The condo was clean and welcoming, and we'll be back!

The pool was refreshing, and our room had peekaboo ocean views. Even with the busy road out front, we had quiet and privacy in the room. Beach access was an easy walk, and Destin Commons is just minutes away with lots to eat and do. It's a laid-back place in the middle of everything. I'd stay here again and recommend it.

We come here all the time, but after this stay at the grand caribbean west, we're not coming back. They claim to accommodate disabled guests, yet there are no elevators. I was also told the hot tub has been out for five months, won't be fixed, and literally stinks. They advertise four grills, but one is broken, and with only two picnic tables, we couldn't grill last night because the working grills were all in use. We called to add a day, and Moana told us to wait until check-in. Then, when we checked in, they gave the room to someone else even though it had been open when we first asked. We were emailed two pool codes that didn't work; after calling, the woman gave us around five more, and those didn't work either. Don't charge people so much for amenities that don't work, and post this on the website. For everyone else, I'd recommend grand caribbean east. They keep it up really well, and we've never had a problem staying there.

It was comfortable for all 10 of us, and the kitchen had the utensils we needed. The furniture was comfortable, everything worked, and there were no plumbing problems. It's close to the beach, though some light bulbs were out. I didn't pay, so I can't say if the rent was worth it. It's nicer than Motel 8, but nowhere near a Ritz. The stars give you an idea: it was nice, just not top of the line.
