Harbor Landing #601a

The condo was spacious and clean, and the pool area was well kept. The view was nice too. But my wife is still disappointed by the beach access problem. None of the cards we were given worked. A maintenance card got us in for one day, then it was swapped for three more cards that failed as well. I'm inclined to ask for a practical refund. It's hard to see how they can advertise private beach access without providing it. Once you're on the beach, it's a long walk either way to find a usable spot, and nothing was marked for our condo.

The grounds are kept up really well, and the pool was perfect, bigger than we expected. We also used the outdoor grills several times, which was a nice bonus. We were renting for 10 people and had 3 cars, but got only 2 parking passes. The extra car had to go in a gravel overflow lot farther away than we'd expected, which was a hassle for whoever had to retrieve it when we went out. The dryer never heated properly, so drying clothes took several cycles. We saw an April review mention the same problem and assumed it would have been fixed by now. It became a frustrating issue during our stay. Beach access itself isn't far, but after reaching the beach you have to walk another 250 yards to the area where you're allowed to set up chairs and belongings. That's less convenient than the description suggests, so plan on a walk. We found it easier to drive down the road, pay to park, and get a shorter walk to the beach and our setup.

The unit I rented was amazing, and the location was great. My kids called it the best vacation ever. I'd come back and recommend it to anyone looking for a family stay.

We came with our three grandkids, and they had a blast. Harbor Landing Condos on Holiday Isle in Destin works really well for families. Winn-Dixie and Target are close by for groceries, with good restaurants and Harbor Walk nearby too. We love this area and have spent the past eight years visiting or living here.
