We always enjoy our stays at the Magnolia House and love renting one of the beautiful homes. Losing the beach tram service is a problem for us, though. With three kids plus beach toys and food, the trip back and forth for naps, lunch, or diaper changes left us exhausted. We'll probably look for a rental closer to the beach next time.
The washer's been broken for five days, and there were no sheets or pillows for the pull-out bed.
I loved the private beaches, peaceful long walks, fishing day or night, and bike rides.
Beautiful view, and the place was extremely nice, comfortable, and well furnished.
Updated comment: There's no front service desk, and several things in the room needed attention. The toilet in one room didn't work, and the shower in that same bathroom nearly flooded. I had to cut my shower short until I plunged it. The kitchen sink only gave lukewarm water. We were told everyone had to leave the pool by 10, but several people came back after security left and were loud and obnoxious, frat boys if that tells you anything. I emailed RealJoy Vacation Properties about the issues and concerns two days before leaving, and they got back to us fairly quickly. I'm not usually one to complain or list everything that went wrong. I try to see the good, and I'm very understanding, but the owner really needs to inspect the property thoroughly. I hope the problems get fixed. I'd love to return for the location, pool and jacuzzi, spacious room, and full kitchen. It truly felt like home. The little things add up over time. Enough ranting! The room is nice, but having no front desk concerned me in case we needed anything. The location is perfect, directly across from the O'Steen Beach Access.
