Pelican Beach Resort

Pelican Beach Resort turned our trip around. Everything was clean and updated when we arrived, and the staff were so welcoming. The pools and hot tubs were well maintained, and private beach access made the stay even better. Our room felt fresh, comfortable, and well cared for, a huge improvement over where we started out. The tiki bars and the whole atmosphere made it easy to relax and enjoy the vacation we thought we'd booked in the first place. We'd absolutely stay here again.

We caught dolphins in the mornings and watched a lovely sunset every night. The condo was spotless, and the pools and hot tubs were clean too. With the beach right nearby and lots of shoreline to stroll, it was a really nice winter stay. Restaurants and shops are just down the road, and I felt comfortable with the security. The price was definitely high, but I think easy access to everything made it worthwhile. Just know that many seasonal activities are closed in winter. For someone coming from snow, it feels like summer!

This was an affordable, comfortable spot in a handy location, and I had a good time here. Getting checked in and into the room was easy, and I liked the view, the amenities, and being close to restaurants and shops. The amenities would probably be amazing in warmer weather, though I couldn't use them because of the conditions during my stay. A few practical things could be better for stays of two days or longer: there was only one roll of paper towels for the whole apartment, and no broom or mop for spills. The toilet kept making a running-water sound that we couldn't stop. I messaged the host, who said they'd handle it the next day because of the late hour. No one had come by 4 p.m., so I followed up, and they arrived about an hour and a half later to fix it. I still enjoyed my stay.

My family and I had a fantastic stay, and we’d gladly return. Our 20th-floor unit at Pelican Beach had both a Gulf sunrise view from the balcony and a sunset view from the open entryway on the front side. The white sand, emerald water, and Destin skyline were beautiful. The kitchen had plenty to work with, including a blender, toaster oven, full oven and stovetop, large fridge, dishwasher, and two kinds of coffee makers. There were also beach toys, snorkels, body boards, and games, plus an in-unit washer and dryer. The property was well cared for, with multiple pools, two hot tubs, a tiki bar, and five elevators. Parking was convenient, and the staff were welcoming and attentive. Walmart is nearby, along with lots of restaurants, shops, and family activities. It’s a beautiful, convenient, family-friendly resort.
