St. Croix unit 604 had a spacious layout, a large balcony with lots of seating, and amazing views. The unit photos were accurate, and it was supplied with pretty much everything we needed. Check-in and checkout were both easy. I spent days comparing places in Destin before booking at Silver Shells, and after this stay I wouldn’t choose anywhere else. We’ll rent this condo again.

St. Croix 1104 had just been updated when we stayed, and everything worked well. When a light bulb went out, someone came to replace it the next day. We couldn’t have chosen a better place, and definitely recommend this unit.

At St. Croix unit 505, the emerald water and white sand were beautiful, and the beach chair and umbrella service was excellent. The property was clean and organized, parking was easy, and we were close to Target, Starbucks, outlet malls, restaurants, and coffee shops. The unit itself could use remodeling: the furniture felt old and worn, and while the beds were okay, they need an upgrade soon. We also wish checkout were at noon instead of 10:00 a.m. Even with those issues, we had an amazing time and can’t wait to return.

After a couple of weeks, the extra charges were reversed, so the billing issue was eventually resolved. But getting there was awful. We’d asked for a callback about charges we believed were erroneous and never heard back. On our first call, the general manager was rude and said our concern wasn’t important because they were a large operation. She made us feel like everyday visitors didn’t matter, then turned to criticizing our family and the room’s condition. They showed us photos of a few crumbs and a smudge on a door, and insisted an added charge that doubled the cleaning bill was justified. We asked to speak with her boss, the chief operating officer, but got no callback. This COVID cleaning add-on is ridiculous if ordinary crumbs can bring extra fees. Check your bill and ask for supporting evidence. We took photos too, and it was easy to argue that the charge was over the top.
