We’ll be back! Condo #214 was relaxing and beautiful, with the comforts of home and a fun Florida feel. It’s right in the heart of Destin, close to Big Kahunas, Local Market, and the harbor. You can walk straight out to the beach without dealing with stairs.
Getting to the beach took a walk, and from the Villa you can’t see the ocean. We had to bring our own chairs and umbrella, which wasn’t comfortable since we were traveling on motorcycles. The twin beds were horrible, and I’ve slept in much better beds. The place was clean apart from the floors: they didn’t seem to have been mopped, and my feet were black every night, even after showering, so I had to wash them before getting into bed. Our Mr. Coffee didn’t work. Another woman at the small pool told us the cook stove in her Villa didn’t work either. Parking cost extra, and there were all kinds of rules we didn’t find out about until we paid. This was the biggest pain in the backside. Don’t do it!
Real Joy kept us updated with all the information we needed, and whenever I called or texted with a question, a very sweet woman answered in under two rings. They were accommodating and respectful, with none of the automated answering machine hassle. The room was clean and updated, and the price felt fair for the location. We could park nearby without hauling everything a mile, and the spot felt conveniently in the middle of things while still being secluded enough for us to feel comfortable with the kids. We had no complaints and felt at ease booking here. One tip: check the outdoor closet before spending a bunch on toys and tents like we did! Thanks for a great place to stay in Destin. 😍
For more than $600 for three nights off season, I expected better than unit 212. It was really dirty, with filthy beds and upholstery, and the living room ventilator was broken. The toilet was troublesome to flush and the unit needs renovation.
This is a charming, safe, and nicely priced condo complex by the Gulf. It’s a small development with individually owned units run by different management companies, so it isn’t a resort. The beach is under a five-minute walk away through private access, and you’ll be given a code. There’s no beach view from the condos, which is why the price is reasonable compared with the big resorts in front. It’s right across the street from and Kahunas and near plenty of restaurants. Parking is monitored and enforced, so make sure whoever you rent from has your vehicle tag details. Parking illegally can take spaces away from guests. Beach chairs usually aren’t provided since previous guests tend to take them, so bring your own chairs and towels. One tip: if people nearby are making a lot of noise, call the sheriff using the number in your welcome package or unit information. There’s no on-site security, but the sheriff’s department is helpful with noise complaints.
