Terrace at Pelican 1002

I left feeling refreshed and spoiled, already thinking about coming back. The café had fresh, tasty bites and a cozy feel, and the beach bar was breezy and lively, with some of the best cocktails I’ve had in ages, from tropical punch to a classic mojito. I also unwound in the sauna and the two bubbling hot tubs, and tried all three pristine pools, each with a different vibe. The room was spotless, thoughtfully arranged, and a peaceful retreat after the day. Best of all, panoramic ocean views shifted from golden sunrise to fiery sunset right outside the room. The Pelican is a place to savor.

Our apartment at the Terrace was absolutely worth it, and the Pelican resort staff were great. We visited in May, with good weather and plenty of parking available. Tip: rent early or late in the season, in April, May, late August, or September. Amazing experience.

The Terrace was perfectly located, just a short drive from Destin Commons and The Gulfarium. We could use both The Terrace and The Pelican, and both were clean and well maintained, with different pools to choose from. The view from our room didn’t face the ocean, but it was still spectacular. Our room was immaculate, and every employee we met was friendly and helpful. They handled every need professionally and efficiently. The café inside The Pelican was delicious, and the Tiki Bar served alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Fabulous stay, highly recommend.

We really appreciated how quickly the Owner answered us, often in seconds or minutes, even though we barely had questions and had no property issues. The home was spotless and well kept. My family has medical professionals, and I’m married to one, so we keep our gear ready and washed the bedding and towels again before settling in. No knock on the cleaning crew, they’d done a hell of a job. There was a broom, mop, and vacuum. We kept the second bedroom shut since we didn’t use it, and we travel with paper plates, cups, and plastic utensils, so we didn’t use the dishes. The AC blew like a winter storm. Some days we didn’t need it thanks to the cool nights and mornings. The master bedroom and living room TVs were easy to use, like cable at home. We didn’t use the third TV, toaster, microwave, or dishwasher. The big fridge and coffee pot were there. We arrived after 5 pm following a seven-hour drive and checked in at the Pelican as advertised. The photos matched what we walked into. We signed the front-and-back property rules, got two armbands and a parking pass. The bands have to be worn on the property. Replacements cost $25 each if lost. If you cut one off before bed, bring it to the front desk the next morning and they’ll replace it free, but you must have the old band with you. The beach access is a short walk behind the Pelican. Pools and weight rooms at both properties are available. From the master bedroom and living room, the view over the pool area included the beach in the distance and the man-made lake with walkover access. It’s not far from entertainment, shops, and restaurants. Remember the one free daily activities pass through xplorie, not one per person. Options include airborne adventures, fishing adventures, a dolphin cruise, snorkeling, and a water park, though some are seasonal. Thanks again to the Owner for sharing your beautiful home.
