The Siren Hotel, an Ash Hotel

This is such a good place to stay in Detroit. The rooms are compact but well designed, and the building and decor are stunning. Service is really responsive, and I love that it's dog friendly. Between the outdoor space, the cafe, and the bars, including Candy Bar and Chenin, there are plenty of places to hang out. The downtown location is perfect.

We had a king bed in room 1209, a Parlor suite, and found it clean and comfortable with no issues. The charming decor and shower were two things I especially liked, and I appreciate hotels that provide robes. It's a nice touch you expect at a good hotel. We also enjoyed Candy Bar, and the valet team was top notch. Ivory at the front desk was an absolute delight, friendly and helpful throughout. He's an asset to the property, so take good care of him.

The location worked really well for our plans. We could easily walk to Wright & Company and The Monarch Club, and there were great views from the hotel and the street outside. Afterward, it was a short, easy drive to the tunnel to continue our trip. Our room was nice, clean, and in good working order apart from a leaky bathroom faucet. The bed was comfortable, there was room for two people with a suitcase each, and the shower was fantastic. The elevators were a bit slow, though that's not unusual in a building like this. Check-in was quick and polite. When our key stopped working too early, staff quickly helped us get back into the room. The paid valet was prompt and polite, but isn't affiliated with the hotel.

The room and hotel had plenty of charm, and the location was central. The front desk staff were friendly and gave us some good suggestions for things to do. We didn't get a chance to visit the bars inside the building, but they looked classy and inviting. Guests can work out at the Y across the street.
