After a few years staying elsewhere, we came back for a second visit. The staff are very nice, and the location is great: a quick walk to the beach and the most popular restaurants. If you book, I'd go for a bay view room. The pool view rooms are right on top of the pool, with no privacy and potentially quite a bit of noise. I'm giving it three stars because the rooms badly need updating. Everything in ours showed its age. I don't expect anything fancy from a beach place like this, but it's a shame they haven't made any effort to update, especially at these rates. It wasn't a bad stay, and you're mostly paying for the location, but expect a small, very dated room like an older roadside motel.

Our room was clean and had everything we needed, and the employees were friendly and helpful. We stayed in a pool-front room. I know it wasn't peak season, but having a green, swampy pool right outside the slider wasn't ideal. The pier was great. I'd stay again, but in a bay-side room.

We stayed seven days on a reservation my sister-in-law made. The room was comfortable, though it could use an upgrade, and the office staff were friendly and attentive. Our first-floor patio looked out over the beautiful Bay, and it's a great location with everything within walking distance. The pet policy was the big problem. I'm a lifelong dog owner and love pets, but the rules here aren't enforced. The patio rooms are the only grassy area, so owners walked and played with their dogs right in front of patios, and dogs relieved themselves there and on the Bay beach. The smell was bad enough that I wouldn't recommend going barefoot or digging in the sand. Many dogs were off leash. One person groomed a dog on the balcony above us, sending fur into my drink one day and onto my drying bathing suits the next. There are no poop-bag stations, and I woke up to a pile of poop right by my patio while having coffee and looking at the Bay. Almost all the signs are hidden in bushes, and while one clearly says no dogs by the pool, an owner brought a dog there and tried to coax it into the water while other guests were around. The motel needs to enforce better rules for pet owners, with a fine for people who don't follow them, like the fine for smoking in a room. It's the owners' behavior that's the issue, and there was no courtesy for other guests.

The location is perfect, the beds are comfortable, and the balconies are awesome. Rooms aren't the most glamorous, but there's a kitchen! Aryn was great to work with, and the weekend staff are super friendly.
