Hampton Inn By Hilton Dexter

The best thing about this hotel was that it was new and close to my relatives’ house. The kids now ask me to book the Hampton Inn in Poplar Bluff next time. We were visiting with my niece and nephew, who both have some challenges, and they were getting energy out in the hallway for about 10 minutes. Just after I got back to my room, the desk clerk called with a nasty attitude and said they had to stay inside. She could have tried to understand the situation first and been kind. This hotel isn’t disability friendly, and I’ll file my own complaint with corporate. I’ll also complete any Hilton surveys I receive because I want them to know she wasn’t nice when she comes up for a raise review. We were in the hall around 8 p.m. for only as long as it took their dad to go outside for one cigarette. I doubt everyone you claimed had called was asleep. A guest followed us to the room, and when the parents came up in the elevator and we went inside, the phone rang. The woman who called had an attitude. It wasn’t what she said, it was how she said it. The pool also wasn’t filtering properly, or the chemicals weren’t balanced. My family broke out in a terrible rash, and the hotel offered just one packet of Benadryl, saying we could buy more for the rest of the family.

The rooms were clean, the breakfast was wonderful, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I had an excellent stay, would highly recommend this place, and will definitely return.

Everything’s new at this recently built hotel. The entry and common area are awesome, and there’s a bar. The hallways also seem wider.

A very clean, nice hotel, with staff who deliver top-notch, five-star service.
