The room was clean and the bed comfortable, but there was no soap or shampoo in the bathroom. The TV had no remote, and the only way to turn it on was a button underneath. There was no guide or way to watch anything. The AC/heating unit was unplugged; when I plugged it in, I found it stuck on cool and impossible to change, even though it was 50 degrees outside. I unplugged it again and used the bedding to stay warm.

Nick is the best manager this hotel has. He tried hard to make sure everyone was okay and doesn’t get enough credit for all he does. The beds were the only good thing about the rooms. The sink wouldn’t drain, the towels were old and gross, and the floors were gross even after mopping. If only the owner cared about this place as much as the other hotels he owns, it could be an alright hotel.

It wasn’t as bad as the reviews made it seem, though it’s pricey and the room quality wasn’t great. There was hair in the bathtub, no fridge, no breakfast, a strange smell, and dirty towels, but that was about it. The beds were very clean and there were no bugs. We got lucky with a live band playing at the bar across the street as soon as we pulled in, and had no trouble getting a room.

The building and rooms are definitely one star, no question. Nick, though, deserves 1000 stars. He’s amazing, kind, patient, and so helpful, and he made our stay very pleasant. He’s one in a million, a diamond in the rough. As a Southern woman, I know hospitality, and he’s the real deal.

The owners were very nice, and lodging was inexpensive with pets staying free. Still, the place felt bleak. There were blood stains on the sheets and not enough outlets for us to charge our devices. The tiny old AC unit took many hours to cool the room. The beds might be comfortable for one person, but they were tiny and transferred a lot of movement.
