Roosevelt Grand Dakota, SureStay Collection by Best Western

The pool was nice, but the elevator felt pretty rickety. Inside the room, there were actual mold spots on the ceiling, peeling paint and holes in the walls. The third-floor carpet looked like an earthquake had hit it.

The lobby and bar look beautiful, but the rooms are another story. They're dim, musty, and moldy, with burnt-out lamp bulbs, torn carpet patched with duct tape in both the room and hallways, moldy shower curtains, and old stained mattresses with no protective cover or pad. The hotel and bar staff were rude and unprofessional. My group stayed recently, and I'd recommend going elsewhere. This place needs updating or should be torn down.

I'm beyond upset about what happened. At 7:45 in the morning, with checkout not until 11, housekeeping nearly walked into my room after knocking so quietly I thought the knock was for the next room. I had just stepped out of the shower and was completely undressed, and barely managed to push the door shut. My fiancé was by the bed and didn't hear a thing. If I hadn't gone to check whether someone was actually at our door, they'd have walked in on me naked. There was nobody at the front desk to speak with.

The halls smelled like sewage, the carpets were stained, dirty, and taped down, and breakfast wasn't worth eating. The hot tub was green, its jets barely worked, and it looked slimy. Green sludge lined the pool, there were no towels there, and we were expected to use room towels even though there weren't enough for everyone. At checkout, the woman had an attitude with whoever she was on the phone with, slammed it down, then rolled her eyes when it rang again. I asked to add my rewards, which I'd forgotten about, and she said no. That's my fault, but every other Best Western I've visited has asked whether I had a rewards number. One of the grossest hotels I've stayed in. Don't stay here!
