Chateau Claire

We loved the area and the view of the lake, but I’m not sure I’d stay here in summer again. Building 2, Unit 23 was on the second floor, and with outdoor temperatures around 80°, it was even hotter inside. The windows all opened, but the condo still wouldn’t cool down, even after dark. We spent $25 on a box fan from Walmart. The small fan in the unit had a thick layer of dust and lint, and there wasn’t enough airflow with all the windows open. The parking pass was missing, perhaps because the previous tenant left with it. The condo had a queen bed in one room and a bunk bed in the other. The queen bed’s foam topper was comfortable, and the bathrooms had been nicely updated. Some kitchen cabinet doors were barely attached, and the garbage disposal smelled horrible. There’s a sauna in the basement, along with a ping pong table and coin-operated washers and dryers. I’d forgotten that many places in Colorado don’t have AC.

It’s one of the older condominium properties in Dillon, but the buildings are in fantastic shape. There’s a mix of owner residents and people staying for a week or renting, and the neighbors are all welcoming and friendly. We’re looking forward to living here full time in a couple of years.

The place is clean and conveniently located. There’s no view, and quite a bit of construction nearby, but don’t let that put you off.

Thank goodness Keystone is only 10 minutes away.
