We spent two nights here and would gladly stay again. TJ was a very nice host, and we got what felt like the best room at the Inn. Sitting on the balcony, we could watch and hear the river right beside us. The flowers and gardens were lovely too, and both evenings we saw fireflies at dusk. There was so much nature nearby. In just two days we drove Newfound Gap and saw Elk, a Mama Bear with two cubs, clusters of butterflies, and a lot more.
This was our fourth stay at Dillsboro Inn, and we keep coming back. Riverside is our favorite room, with spectacular views. The Inn has everything needed for coffee and light snacks in the room, and restaurants and a little shopping are within walking distance. A 10 minute drive takes you to downtown Sylva for more food and shopping. Cherokee, with its casino, the Smokey Mountains, and Blue Ridge Parkway are about 20-30 minutes away.
We’re watching trout rise from our porch right now, and the host has been very nice and helpful. The Inn is comfortable and clean, with a pleasant walk into town for shops and dining. It’s a great place to relax, though it isn’t a luxury hotel or spa. If someone in your group doesn’t fish, they can watch from the bank, deck, or porch, or not at all. Just plan your town-seeing before or after the GSMR train comes through.
TJ was so hospitable, and the charming town is very close, about 5 minutes from Sylva. We absolutely loved this place. It’s amazing if you’re looking for a true mountain getaway.
We had such a peaceful stay at the Dillsboro Inn and will definitely be back. TJ was welcoming, and his Inn was spectacular. We enjoyed the river and some great meals nearby, breakfast at Beach Mountain and dinner at Haywood’s Smokehouse. A lovely little hideaway. Mitch & Jenifer
