We’ve been staying at this 🏨motel on and off, sometimes in a room and sometimes in our van in the parking lot. My family of five has been dealing with homelessness for two years, after I was wrongfully fired from my job of 10 years, lost our home of more than 20 years because I couldn’t afford rent, and was denied my unemployment. The owners 🌼 have never turned me away or told my family to leave. Lots of people come through here, and it feels like a whole other world inside, like everybody knows everybody, lol. The landlords are 🥶 chill, and I love the free ice machine 🧊🧊. Just don’t ask Larry to open the door after hours unless you’re ready to wait outside a while, with the 🚒 ambulance going by loudly for what feels like the millionth time that day 🚑.

The owners are nice, the parking is close and convenient, and the place is clean and attractive. It’s fairly priced, too. I’ve stayed twice: the first visit was great, but in the other room on my second stay, the shower wasn’t very good and the sink drained slowly. Check those before taking the room. Those things seem to have been missed by maintenance, but overall it’s a very nice, clean place for a fair price.

The remodeled rooms look better, but the cleaning still needs work. Room 1 hadn’t been rented since the remodel, yet it was dusty, there was hair in the shower and dead water bugs by the bed, and the mini fridge was filthy. The blanket had stains, the chair was nasty, and there was barely room to walk. Room 7 had a stained, dirty-looking sofa, so I covered it with the comforter before sitting down. I also found a Jack Daniels bottle beside the bed. Room 9 was nice, but I found a cologne bottle on the desk. In all three rooms, they need to wipe things down daily and make sure nothing’s left behind, including dust on doors and doorknobs. I told them about it and hope these problems are fixed if I come back.

There was only one chair in the room and nowhere else to sit, while the other rooms have at least a small sofa for the same price. I could hear the next door creak every time the person next door came or went, and the TV audio kept cutting out, so I couldn’t make out everything being said. There was nowhere to hang clothes, graffiti on the door frame and bathroom window, and after seeing roaches I pulled off the pillowcases only to find lipstick on the pillows. Gross. Worst night.

The big problem for me was the water: both nights I stayed, my showers were cold, with no hot water to speak of. I hope it was only my room, because otherwise this is a nice, clean budget motel. It’s basic and cheap, but surprisingly pleasant for what it is, and a good option if you’re staying in Dinuba on a budget and want to support a local business. If hot showers matter, Best Western and Holiday inn are the other two hotels in town.
