The fire pit and the stars made for a lovely evening, and we all slept well. Denver showed us the guest house as soon as we arrived around 6, then invited us to meet the ostriches. They were fascinating, and our 6-year-old loved seeing George, the biggest one. He was still saying he missed George the next day. My wife, son, and I stayed just one night, but I’d recommend the ranch to anyone looking for a full house and a different kind of experience.
Denver was helpful and gave us space. The cabin was comfortable and practical, with a full kitchen, two full bathrooms, two bedrooms, a dining room with a couch, and laundry. It wasn’t luxurious, but everything worked and it was very nice. We enjoyed the ostriches and roasting marshmallows by the fire pit, and the area was great for stargazing. We only stayed one night as a family, though it could easily work as a base for 4-5 nights. Lake Meade is about 25 minutes away, Hoover Dam about 35, and there are plenty of trails nearby, along with the Grand Canyon Skywalk. Check-in was 1-9 PM, and checkout was firmly at 10 AM.
The host was so friendly and welcoming. We also had fun seeing the ostrich ranch, and the spacious lodge had all the comforts of home. Such a unique experience!
I live a street away and haven’t stayed here myself, but the cabins seem nice enough for people visiting from out of town. You can sign up online. I’ve never seen the owner around. The ostriches are huge, and the public can visit them from sunup to sundown.
The property is remote, and the ostriches are interesting to watch. Denver was an excellent host, and the place was very nice.
